Philippa is a London-based creative producer specialising in nurturing artists through processes of collaboration and development. With development producing experience at artistic incubator houses National Theatre, Factory International, Southbank Centre and Fuel, her work spans across a range of disciplines and the in-between.
New ways of experiencing music is at the centre of her work: as development producer of Church of Sound, creative producer of Laura Misch’s Slow Tour, tour coordinator of Southbank Centre’s live orchestral production of 2001: A Space Odyssey, producer of Gazelle Twin & NYX’s Deep England live show, album and music film, and as a member of Justin Vernon and Aaron & Bryce Dessner’s 37d03d community. Philippa is creative director of NYX, a music experience combining live electronic choral music, spatial sound technology, architecture and visual design.
Former producer and programmer of British Council’s Convergence Sessions, Philippa work as an independent curator for discursive public programmes, bringing together leading international thinkers to debate and find solutions for the future of art and digital culture. As development producer for Fuel and in partnership with Wellcome Trust and Queen Mary University of London, Philippa produced The Lab, a commissioning platform matchmaking scientists and artists to create new public engagement projects responding to research on global and public health.
Her independent work is grounded by strong investment, producing and commercial partnerships. She works as a regular assessor for PRSF Music and previously as regional funding advisor for Auckland City Council’s arts, culture and strategic relationship investment grants. She has raised and managed project and professional development grants from Arts Council England, PRSF Music, Help Musicians UK and Heritage Lottery Fund for independent artists and organisations.
She is an experienced social mobiliser, having worked at 38 Degrees, a not-for-profit political-activism organisation, campaigning to defend rights, promote peace, preserve the planet and deepen democracy in the UK. As a grassroots organiser, she engaged four million members across the UK to take meaningful action in political conversations, especially in the case of Brexit and protecting the environment.
